Conures, A personal favourite.
What do you know? Did you know that conure is just the name. As with most things there are different types and sub species:
Bigger sized like: Patagonian and the Queen of Bavaria.
Medium sized like: Sun, Jandaya and Nanday.
The smaller sized like: Green Cheeks, Pearly, Black Capped, White eared and the list goes on..........
Over the years the more common Green Cheek is now seen in mutations such as: Yellow sided, Pineapple, Turquoise, Sun Cheeks and so on.
Conures are special, they are extremely generous and social birds. Most have a lifespan of around 20/25 years. They are definitely not to be underestimated. Conures can demand attention just the same as a bigger parrot. They require training and time. Conure's are very cheeky in nature so training is essential. Quite often Conures go through a stage of adolescent hormonal nipping. More so in the females but once past this stage, nipping is alot less. Conures play and display a proper human connection. Given the nature of a Conure it makes them an absolutely fabulous all round family friend.
