
Budgies are still the No1 Pet bird. The range of colours, the size and temperament off them make them still a most loved pet bird. You could say they are next level in a small world. Full of personality and make brilliant companions. Small in size but big in heart. These are ideal for the introduction to the feathered world. Brilliant for children, busy homes and lifestyle. Budgies are easy living and love the human interaction. They are also easy to sex and relatively easy to tame as long as purchased young.
There are many types of budgies these days but the most noticeable is their are pet type and exhibition. A quick index on the differences below;
Pet type - Small, pretty colours and in general much less problems in health.
Exhibition - Bigger in size, in particular much heavier feathers making them look fluffy and much larger than a normal pet type budgie. Also known as the English Budgie.

• Life Expectancy - Average 8 - 15 years (guide only)
• Diet - Budgie seed, plain canary seed, groats, tonic seeds, leafy greens, fruits and eggfood.
• Noise Level - low.
• Size - 15 – 25cm (guide only)
• Sexing – Generally easy to sex by the cere, even when young. Males will start off with a purple cere turning blue unless in the ino range and all females start off white turning brown.
• Talk/ Mimic/ Sing - Yes, they have been known to talk.
• Temperament - Very calm and very loyal.
