Cockatiels are a sub member of the cockatoo family, Australian native. These are considered a medium sized parakeet but a species in their own right. A very popular family pet, with so much to offer. Cockatiel’s can and do have the ability to say a handful of words and sounds. Males tend to be the more vocal of the two. One of the easier bird types to tame and care for. Cockatiels are sweet in nature and show very little in the way of aggression. You truly do get back what you put in with these gorgeous creatures.

• Sexing – Normal grey and whitefaced are easy, males get the yellow or white face and plain markings on there tails, females stay grey with bars on there tails. Other mutations are more difficult and can require DNA sexing.
• Talk/ Mimic/ Sing - Talk, whistle.
• Temperament - Cheeky, loyal, inquisitive.
